There are about a million puffins around the coast of the UK. They like to eat sand eels, and can dive as deep as 60m to catch them. Puffins are threatened by predators, pollution, food shortages caused by overfishing, and sometimes they are accidentally caught in fishing nets. They are listed on the Red List of UK Birds of Conservation Concern.
